Bill Clapp - President of the Board
Bill is President of the Board and Co-Founder of the Seattle International Foundation-- A businessman with more than 30 years of experience running a variety of companies in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska and Hawaii. Bill Clapp co-founded Global Partnerships with his wife Paula Clapp in 1994. Bill retired from Matthew G. Norton Co., an investment holding company where he is still chairman, and became the CEO of Global Partnerships in early 2001. In 2002 he co-founded the Initiative for Global Development. In addition to serving on the boards of Weyerhaeuser and Alaska Airlines, he served on several community and nonprofit boards and has been actively involved in the micro-finance development areas since 1993 as an early investor. Bill has also served on many industry panels and advisory committees, speaking widely on development issues.

Paula Clapp - Vice President of the Board
Paula is Vice-President of the Board and Co-Founder of the Seattle International Foundation. Paula also co-founded Global Partnerships in 1994 with her husband, Bill Clapp, to promote economic opportunity for people living in poverty in Latin America. In addition to her work with Global Partnerships, Paula is active in the Seattle community and is a founding member of the Washington Women’s Foundation. Paula holds a master’s degree in counseling and has worked as a middle school counselor at Zion Preparatory Academy, and as a volunteer recreational therapist at Children’s Hospital in Seattle. Paula dedicates her time and energy to advocate for global poverty alleviation and to educate the community about the success of microcredit lending to eliminate poverty. Currently, she is working to raise awareness around international and local sex trafficking. She also enjoys spending time with her four grandchildren.

Norm Rice - Trustee
Norm is a Trustee of the Seattle International Foundation and
currently serves as president and CEO of The Seattle Foundation, one of the nation’s largest community foundations. Rice is also former president and chief executive officer of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle and served in the office of Seattle mayor from 1990 to 1997. While in office, he championed for an improved public school system, breathed new life into Seattle's downtown with new retail centers, housing and civic buildings, and implemented a model welfare-to-work program. Currently, Rice is a member of the Brookings Institution's Advisory Committee for Sustainable Communities, serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Northwest African-American Museum, serves on the board of the King County Committee to End Homelessness and HistoryLink, and is past Chair of the Enterprise Foundation, Fifth Avenue Theatre, YMCA of Greater Seattle and United Way of King County. Bringing his noted role as a consensus builder and extensive background in community development, Rice is leading The Seattle Foundation in achieving its mission to create a healthy community through engaged philanthropy, community knowledge and leadership.

Tom Waldron - Trustee
Tom is a Trustee of the Seattle International Foundation and founder of the Waldron & Company. Tom brings over 30 years of experience leading public sector, private sector and not-for-profit searches at all levels. Tom's political savvy, creative approach, and strong ethical emphasis have enhanced the firm's reputation for quality services. In 1983, Tom founded Waldron & Company to specialize in providing Human Capital Consulting services to corporations, non-profit organizations and the public sector. Waldron & Company has since grown to become one of the leading firms of its kind in the Western U.S., with its headquarters in Seattle, WA and satellite offices in Portland, OR; Scottsdale, AZ; Salt Lake City, UT; and Boise, ID. Waldron & Company employs a diverse and talented staff of individuals with extensive prior corporate leadership, human resource management, consulting, and advisory experience.
Over the years, he has volunteered on several not-for-profit boards, including Global Partnerships, and has served on industry association boards and task force committees, including those of the Seattle Biomedical Research Institute, Family Services, The International District Health Clinic and the Washington State Ferry Advisory Committee. Through his advisory relationships and involvement, he has influenced the direction of literally hundreds of community organizations over the years.
