The Seattle International Foundation has significantly supported the following programs both past* and present. We have strived to be an agent of change, and we have sought to support leverage points where we believe significant progress can be made. Some of these are on a global scale and others are more local, but our giving has generally been directed toward projects that include both scalability and lessons that can be learned and shared elsewhere.
Also listed are many organizations to which we have given more modest support, often because they fit within a larger mosaic such as our interest in the northwest development community, occasionally because we are trying to get to know them. These organizations are listed for your information; they have not been researched to the same degree as the other organizations.
On our Recommended Organizations page you can find more information about organizations and other projects recommended by other philanthropists willing to share their enthusiasm and serve as a reference should you desire to learn more. If you are with a Foundation, you too may add your own recommendations on the Recommend an Organization page.
***Please note that SIF is not currently accepting unsolicited grant applications due to staff size. Most grants are the result of the founding members’ 15 years of networking and work in the field.***
*SIF began as private philanthropy and made its grants under individual and fund names.
