The Seattle Ambassador Program, an initiative of the Seattle International Foundation (SIF), was created to inspire and mobilize local residents to join in the fight against global poverty. The Seattle Ambassador program partners with Seattle based companies to raise awareness about local institutions working to alleviate poverty around the world. Participants at partnering companies enter a contest to become a Seattle Ambassador, and win an all-expense paid international trip to see firsthand how our community is improving lives in Africa, Asia or Latin America.
The Seattle area is home to a vibrant global development sector, comprised of more than 300 organizations working to improve lives in all 144 developing countries. These nonprofit organizations, businesses, government entities, academic institutions and foundations are making significant contributions to reducing global poverty and addressing crosscutting issues such as health, gender equality, economic development, education, environmental sustainability and human rights.
This city-wide campaign will raise awareness about these local institutions and ask individuals to lend their support to these efforts.
